We are hosting at our Madrid venue a presentation and promotional event for the project @escueladelospueblos – Escuela de los Pueblos ‘Josefa Martín Luengo’. Located in the region of Las Merindades (Burgos), the aim is to create a formative and experiential space for facilitators working to revitalize and defend our territories. It also seeks to become a training center for the social movement, helping to strengthen ties between rural and urban environments, fostering mutual respect and understanding — both essential for their survival.

Hear directly from its promoters: the school’s participatory ecosystem is broad and diverse, made up of a wide network of organizations who, through education, aim to build a strong rural-urban popular movement and fight for a living countryside. The project is driven by the grassroots movement Colectivo Memoria Viva de los Pueblos, with the support of @revistasoberaniaalimentaria (Food Sovereignty Magazine), @bielaytierra (Biela y Tierra), the Universidad Rural del Cerrato, and Campo Adentro, which is part of a support network spread across the country.

The project is based in a 16th-century manor house located in Quecedo de Valdivielso (Burgos), which will host the school. Its reconstruction will require the support of all of us.
