Calero is the name of a stream. The park still retains its name, although little of its watery memory remains. In the 60's, when the neighborhood was consolidated, its watercourse was covered with the rubble of the low houses in the area and became the origin of the park we know today. A park that after its last works and the waterproofing of its surface has further deepened its disconnection with the hydrological cycle.
Next Friday, July 7, and with the help of Javiera Cifuentes, Chilean performer, we will talk about the past and present of the park, we will walk through the basin of the stream, which still exists, and we will perform the action SILENCIO.
SILENCIO is an artistic action that has been articulated collectively in different territories of Latin America. The performance questions our human links with the element Water and asks how to relate to its vital force beyond matter.
