On May 4 in the CAR's Spindles program, together with Elisabeth Lorenzi and the FabLab of the Center for Innovation in Circular Economy of Madrid, we will carry out a day dedicated to the backstrap loom, a simple way to learn the basics of weaving loom using the oldest looms of humanity and that are still part of the tradition and current textile cultures of Abya Yala / America and Northern Europe.

In this day we will learn to design our own loom with digital tools and we will have it physically thanks to the laser cutting tools of CIEC. With it we will weave ribbons with which we will be able to finish off garments, or accessories such as belts, etc.

In the morning at the Center for Innovation in Circular Economy in Madrid (C/ de Prat, 59) from 9.00 to 14.00 digital design and laser cutting in DM of our tool.

From 14.00 to 19.00 at CAR (C/ Buen Gobernador, 4) lunch and loom handling with Elisabeth Lorenzi.
