On Wednesday 26th at 19h we will have at CAR the first meeting of a program in collaboration with *Hamaca* (experimental audiovisual platform) to think about transformative collective processes from film.

In this seminar we will talk, through the films La imaginación radical (Marcelo Expósito, 2004) and Paraíso (Maddi Barber - Marina Lameiro, 2021) not only about the experiences that they tell us, but also about the ways of registering and narrating that we have. We will listen to other collective experiences and then tell our own.

After the abandonment of the villages during the 60's in the Arce Valley, the Government of Navarra planted pine trees in the fields that were tilled or were pasture for animals. More than 50 years later, in a village repopulated in the 80s, they have decided to cut down the pines and recover their fields. Through different data and image capture technologies, Paraíso explores a territory in transformation.

Mask, music, body and communication are fundamental ingredients of carnival protest. The video poses this formal problem: how to represent a type of multifocal protest that, with its diverse ramifications and fronts of action, totally breaks with the classic models of demonstration. It does so by means of screen fragmentations and non-linear forms of narration that combine - in a montage of semi-autonomous narrative blocks - interviews, music (Glenn Gould, Schöenberg, electronic sounds), texts (Bajtin, Notes from Nowhere) and very diverse archival materials (from film to painting).
